THE STORY

Finca La Bastilla is an idyllic farm set atop the high peaks of Nicaragua’s Jinotega department.  Micro-farms have been created throughout the estate, so each coffee can express its full potential in accordance with the different microclimates.  Additionally, La Bastilla owns its own micro-mill, so every coffee is wet and dry milled in house.  One of the coffees grown and milled at La Bastilla is this Geisha varietal.

Geisha is the most prized cultivar in existence.  It is known for bright citrus, honeysuckle sweetness, and tea-like floral notes.  Due to low yield, and its propensity for leaf rust, it takes special care and attention to properly cultivate.

This is a very, very special coffee.  We taste honey, chamomile, jasmine, various fruits.  This is one of the best coffees we have ever roasted.
